We All Just Want To SeeA Poem by AekmyI was never in love with the stars because they reminded me of where you are. The mocking birds miss your voice. It was always the most soothing. Oh, would you return? For the night, you have left my hand empty To hold my heart where your memories lie. Every lightning flash reminds me of the light in your eyes, a small epiphany; too many thoughts at one time. Press your lips to my skin like gravy grazing fine kin. I am your familiar, the petal of a rose, the comfort in your guilt. {I’ll be the sun in your shine, too, if you want.} You’re the brightest star in my sky. No cloud can obstruct my view. We’ll have a party when it storms. I’ll be your Wendy if you’ll be my Peter Pan. Take me on an adventure. We’ll leave our connections behind and mingle for hours. Don’t let me drown in the sea of grass. Lay with me in the flowers. We’ll bury our feet in the mud along with our promises, skip rocks on the water. Watch me hop across the river. Light. Up. My. World. Be the shooting star across my universe. I’ll be a black hole in your path, Pulling you from orbit and into an unchartered place. EVERYTHING. © 2010 AekmyAuthor's Note
