Somebody, Help Me.

Somebody, Help Me.

A Story by Aekmy

"I can't take the noise." I whispered in my living room, crouched on the floor.

"I can help you." He had his hand extended to me, waiting for me to take it.

I was wedged between the wall and the couch side and he was doing his best to coax me out.

"Your guardian will be awake any minute."

"If you're worried so much about Mary then you should leave."

"If you would just get up!" He half yelled.

"Oh...." I groaned.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He knelt down to me and lifted my chin. Finally I could see those beautiful blue eyes. Something inside of me melted, but just as soon as he was there he was gone.

"Wha...?"

"Here." He came back with my Ipod. We both grinned as I slid the ear peices into my ears. Smooth music calmed my mind. I sighed with relief.

"Let's go." He kissed me and then pulled me up. I looked around in relief as I realized I would be leaving this dull place. With its lamps and dingy curtains, it was so plain. I jogged to my room and grabbed the handle to my leather suitcase that was laying on my perfectly made bed. I wrote a note to Mary. She wouldn't be heartbroken or concerned that I was leaving. She'll probably throw a house party. As I left my square room, I remembered my headache medicine. Why hadn't I remembered it before? Tyler already had it in hand. Those pills in that little bottle were key to my sanity.

"This gets more and more simple as we go." He said.

"And I know how much you like simplicity." I grinned before kissing him. He pulled me close, memorizing my shoulders.

Our shoes made little noise on the frozen concrete as we headed for the truck.

"Tyler, something isn't right about this. I can feel it." I said as we were driving away from the house.

"What do you think it is?" He asked, serious. "You're never worried."

"Maybe it's just my nerves."

"Sleep."

"I need eight hours. Wake me up then."

"Okay."

I closed my eyes and dug myself deep into the cushion of the passenger seat. I could feel his eyes on me. I knew he was smiling, but I surely wasn't. Eighth hours wouldn't be enough time to sort out whatever was on my mind.

It was too bad the heat didn't work in his car. I shivered in my coat and swquirmed closer to him; he wrapped his arm around my shoulder. I slugged into an uncomfortable sleep. Deamons plagued my mind all through the night.

Hours later, I twitched. Luckily, I was awoken from my dream. I looked around to find Tyler sprawled in the backseat. I smiled at his posture. He was sitting up with his arms and legs spread out. His poor neck wasn't going to feel good in the morning. Wait, what time was it? I looked on my Ipod. It was four in the morning. I knew he wouldn't make it through the whole night - or morning. Smiling, I stepped out of the car and into the fridged air. Slowly, I walked to the drivers side. I jumped in and started the car. I finally realized that we were parked on the side of the highway and I didn't know where we were. Hmm... I drove forward anyway. Maybe there was a McDonalds around here. I drove a few miles and found an off ramp that promised food. As soon as I pulled into the McDonalds drive through, Tyler was all ears.

"Are you hungry, baby?" I spun the steering wheel and stopped behind another car.

"Just a little." I turned around and smiled at him. As I was ordering, he climbed from the small cab and into the passenger. After I ordered, I turned to look at him. He grabbed my hand and smiled at me. I could feel the bags under my eyes drooping. Once we had our food, I parked in the parking lot. Putting the truck in park, I rested my head against the head rest.

"Switch with me." He said.

"Okay." We switched and I was able to get comfortable in the passenger seat.

As Tyler was looking through the bag, he said, "Hey, did you get anything?"

"You know I don't like fast food." I made a face.

"Oh, that's right." He shrugged and dug into his burger. The smell of greese and under achievment filled the car.
