Chapter Twenty-Five: The EndA Chapter by AekmyAva’s P.O.V We left Frank’s place is high spirits and to my dim surprise Gerard had made a new friend. Her name was Maggie and she used to help with music videos. He wouldn’t tell me anything else. That night as I lay in bed I realized the end of our relationship was near. The human Maggie was a distraction to Gerard. I could taste it in his kiss and in the air. He was finally realizing what was best for him. Later on that week as I was making his dinner after a long day at the studio, he took my hands and guided me to the couch. “Ava, we need to talk.” “I agree.” “I” He breathed deeply. “…I want to move out and get my own place.” “You’re going on tour in a month.” I reminded him. “Look, Gerard, you can move out. That’s alright. When would you like help?” “You don’t care?” “It doesn’t bother me that you’re moving in with Maggie, no.” “How did you…?” He was breathless, his hazel eyes gasping into mine, but “It’s time you moved on.” I tried to reassure his panicking face. “Don’t you still love me?” “Do you want me to?” “I don’t know! I just need something - warm.” “The world is ready to live without magic.” I looked at my feet, letting my gaze slide down his slender figure before I got up. The thought of Gerard to ever stop loving me hadn’t crossed my mind until the day his junk was out of my apartment. His smell still hadn’t left my room. My heart felt the emptiest it had in awhile. At long last the sin I had committed was finally corrected. Immortal and mortal beings cannot live together in harmony. And my lonely heart shall watch over his and hers as they thrive.
