Chapter Twenty-Two

Chapter Twenty-Two

A Chapter by Aekmy

 Frank’s P.O.V

Ava sort of scared me on the phone. Not only did she sound worried, but she sounded so different! Geez, her voice was velvety and smooth. In less than fifteen minutes she was knocking at my door. I looked through the peep hole, trying to prepare myself. She was standing a ways back looking around uncertainly, rubbing her arms. I couldn’t push back the thought of how wrong this sort of was; with the way she was dressed in all, a loose denim jacket, old old My Chem Teenagers’ shirt (how ironic), and skinny jeans. Oh, those skinny jeans. I swore under my breath that she looked better than before, but decided to open the door. Maybe the hall way was cold.

“hey.” I said, breathing deeply, trying to focus on her face.”

“Ay, frank.” She smiled and started to walk in. immediately, she placed herself on the edge of the bed.

“What brings you here? Um, sorry I don’t have anything to drink or eat.” I shrugged and looked around.

“Oh that’s fine, but frank I need to tell you something.” Her blue eyes bore into mine.

“Wait, before you go on I wanna show you something.” Reluctantly, she let me get up, lips pursing.

“look.” I showed her her back stage pass for when we go on tour.

“Aren’t they cool?” I asked excitedly.

“You’re letting me come?” she asked and took the pass, twirling it in her hands.

“Well, yeah. Gerard is close to you. If I had a girlfriend of whatever he would let her come, too.” I pointed out.

“You might not want me to after I tell you this.”

“Ava spit it out.” She was absolutely killing me with this whole thing.

“I don’t know how to say it.”

“What’s it about?”

“Me.”

“What’s wrong?”

“You could say I’m – different, but in a way where I can’t change. I’m a monster.” She whispered the last part barely audible.

“You’re a what?”

“monster.” She said louder as her eyes got puffy, but tears didn’t pop out.

 “I…I don’t understand.” I managed.

“For what I am…” she struggled with the words.

“Did you and Gerard have a fight?”

She laughed through her trembles. “No, no. frank, do you believe in immortal creatures?”

“Like, vampires and stuff?”

“Exactly.”

“So what are you saying? That you’re a…” I couldn’t finish.

“I just didn’t want to scare you over the phone.”

“Oh my god you’re a,” I swallowed and watched her watch me. “Vampire?” I whispered my voice hoarse. She simply nodded. This couldn’t be real. No, no, no.

“I was born in the nineteen hundreds and supposedly died on nineteen twenty-eight, but Nigel, I good friend of mine, saved me. I think you can figure that one out, but I’ve been one ever since.” She paused taking in my questioning expression. “I’m over ninety years old. Frank, I won’t hurt you.” Suddenly, I knew what she meant.

“So, you don’t eat…”

“no.” she said reassuringly. “When peter injected me that night he changed me further. I had been hiding what I was for so long, but somehow he quickened the process. I don’t know, it’s just… Look, this is weird for me too, frank. You and the guys are Gerard’s best friends. I would never hurt you.” Her eyes didn’t lie.

“That’s why you’re so different.” I mused.

“Yes. I hope we can still be friends.”

“Are you telling anyone else?”

“I don’t know, maybe with a joke at first and then sooner or later I’ll have to let everyone know Gerard is dating a vampire.” She chuckled and looked at the floor.

“Does Gee know?”

“Of course he knows. First person to know.” She winked at my playfully. Somehow I laughed, not so sure yet.

“So, now that I guess I’m sort of over this.” I sighed and looked down, glancing at her legs. “Are you still coming?”

“Well, yeah. I love to party you know.” She winked again and I gasped.

“What?” she hesitated before moving, looking at me nervously.

“You’re just…wow.”

“Sorry about that. Men are naturally attracted like that so don’t worry.”

Without warning I jumped toward her, pushing her down on the bed. A fact about vampires flooded my mind, but I flushed it out.

“Frank.” She looked around nervously, putting her hands to my chest.

“Just once.” I murmured. Without her say, I took over, running my hand down her leg, pulling it up to me. I knew I shouldn’t be doing this, but some part of me just said, ‘go with it. Do what your instincts tell you too’ so I did. In the blink of an eye, Ava scooted out from under me, but she wasn’t running away, she was teasing me with her finger. I inched forward, turning out the light on my way to her, grinning the whole time and she seemed to be, too. While placing her tiny hands on my shoulders, she wrapped one leg around my waist, pulling me closer and backed up into a corner. I sighed pleasurably and hooked my hand around her waist, pulling her as close as she could get. Her breath pounded my senses like she was drugging me. Hesitantly, I kissed her. She opened her mouth and breathed out only, but that was enough for me. Suddenly, she pushed me away, but I couldn’t see where she was. I heard the door slam and I turned on the light, sighing.
