Chapter TwelveA Chapter by AekmyWithout moving I weighed my options of getting up and walking away. I knew I could, but wouldn’t people find that a tad weird or scary? Yeah they would. Suddenly, around a mile away, I could hear the footsteps of Gerard. I risked looking around to see him, but I couldn’t yet. “Ava!” he screamed. God, can’t he be quiet. I thought while he ran slowly to me. “Ava.” He sighed and ran his fingers through my bangs, mixing it with the rest of my hair. “Come closer.” I choked, pretending to be hurt. “Is anyone with you?” “No.” “Okay, then. Is anyone looking at us?” I returned to my normal, sing song voice. “Surprisingly no.” I huffed and untangled my mangled body. He gasped while I popped bones back into place. “How the hell did you do that?” “I do need to explain some things to you, don’t I?” I muttered softly. Gerard just stood there, mouth in a side ways oval of -- disgust maybe, and gaped at my body. Into the sky beyond the twentieth floor peter was retreating from the window, but it wasn’t broken. Confusion stretched across my face. I hadn’t imagined that. No, no, no. no, I hadn’t. It couldn’t be true. Something warm grasped my forearm. “How about we take you home.” Gerard gently started tugging me from the scene that wasn’t there. I stumbled all the way back to my apartment and through the elevator and into my room. I’d never staggered before. Not since my little match with peter. He was right. I was starting to fall apart. © 2009 Aekmy |
