Chapter Six

Chapter Six

A Chapter by Aekmy

“I was born on January 1, 1900 and died on January 6, 1928. I had just turned twenty eight and my family wanted to picnic on the Thames River, so we did or tried to.” Getting lost in my past always made my eyes glaze over. “My mother and father forgot something, so ran back to the house, but I stayed along. The water that day was fairly high and being myself I just wanted to dip my toes in the cold water, so I did, but something or someone pushed me in. I was one of the fourteen that drowned that day. Inside that river you could only imagine how cold it was. Every waking second of my last struggles I could feel my heart slipping away, but near the end someone saved me. It was a painful save, but my heart was still beating, well…” I chuckled remembering Nigel saving me.

Nigel swooped me out of the water, so frantic like yet he still had control over his emotions, his skin sparkled in the winter sun, a dazzling grin painted across his sculptured face. Pale fingers moved along my arms, to my collar bone, he laid me down and politely lingered over me. I stroked his pale face, over his lips, the length from his jugular to his ear and back again. I smiled happily.

“Your fingers are delightfully warm.” His sweet honey breath smothered my senses as he took my hand. Instantly I moved closer to his face, anticipating a kiss. He removed his hat to behold a head full of brown tasselled hair, set it to the side, and brought me closer as well. My dress waved and billowed in the chilling wind. Things happened quite quickly then; his lips were grazing my throat when I heard I low growling sound originate from his chest. I opened my eyes to see Nigel’s wide ravenous eyes. Fright filled my mind in an instant, but he had me too tight to run away.

“Nigel? Nigel, stop it.” I let out a blood curdling scream through the peaceful park…

An astonishingly warm hand on my shoulder brought me back to reality. My gasp caught in my throat.

“So how are you alive?”

“Nigel saved me.”

“Okay, but how are you alive today?”
