Chapter Five

 (Still Gerard’s P.O.V)

“Where?” she stopped and faced me. Her pale little fingers reached into my front pocket so quick I only saw them when she showed me a piece of paper with an apartment address in front of my face.

“Here.” She winked and crawled off.

“How’d you do that?” I looked up, astounded but grinning.

“A magician never reveals her secrets, love.” She grinned and got up to go through the door. I followed her and watched her every move. She pulled another cigarette from her pocket and lit it and then finished my pictures. She also got another call from that person. I had a funny feeling about them.

I caught up with the guys as they were about to call me.

“Yo.” Frank said, still laughing from a joke I had missed.

“Hey.”

“So…” he had that grin on his face.

“Oh, god, what is it?”

“You and Ava, huh.” He shook his head and got in the van.

“No, man, nothing like that. I don’t think she really likes me anymore. It’s been too long.”

We zoomed off to our motel, since my house was too far from town, and all of us probably couldn’t make the drive and we happily arrived there in no time. Frank slowed me down while the others proceeded into the room.

“Was there something wrong with her tonight?”

“I don’t know Sherlock; I haven’t seen her in forever.”

“She just seemed lost.”

“Lost?” maybe in me, I thought, and laughed. We slowly started walking into the room.

“No. her eyes were unfocused.” Frank shook his head and took a seat on the edge of the bed.

“I don’t know what you mean, man.”

“Yes, you do, Gerard.” The way he looked up at me made me uneasy.

“Actually I’m going to see her tonight.” I scratched my head and looked around.

“I thought so. Ya know, it would probably be good for you to get out.” He slapped my shoulder and walked out. Had I changed so much I needed someone to change me back? I hopped not.

I changed into different more casual comfy clothes and hopped into the van. The drive over seemed like an hour long.
