Unusual Victories (A Gerard Way love story.)

I have been writing around three years. My earliest works are rough, but not horrible. School has definetly helped with literature and the like. The thing I need most help with is discribing scenes and feelings. I tend to use the word 'I' too much, but I don't know how else to portray the feelings of my characters in a way that makes the reader feel apart of the story. The books I have read are beautifully written, but I can't make myself adapt to that type of writing. Help is wanted. Thanks. : D
