Who Is This For?

Who Is This For?

A Poem by teaspoon

I’ve just been thinking

been thinking

About the accumulation of things

Inputs and

Outputs

And how every time I say

“Hello”

To you

I am checking in with you

Instead of myself

Because it is easier

An

External inquiry of well being

Versus

Genuine internal confusion

If it was self-directed

As it is at its core

It would bring to light problems

Difficult to ignore

“How are you?”
Turns into

“How am I?”
And

“What are you doing?”
Turns into

“What am I doing?”

And

“Where are you?”
Turns into a

genuine cry of disorientation from

the mouth of a small child.
