to feel his commas swimming

towards her Parentheses.

she licked his lowercase letters

Languidly, her performance

on his predicate set off his

Modifiers, culminating in an umlaut

while ampersanding his cedilla.

never had a figure of speech

captured his past participles

so et cetera, in quotation marks ad infinitum

blessed be her boisterous prepositions

 

the sine qua non of her sacred sentences

may no abbreviations ever besmirch

her verbs, her nouns or her vowels

and may her periods appear perfectly
