![]() Blue EyesA Poem by adrianaDo you know what color loneliness is? I used to think it was gray the saddest of colors like the pages of a worn out book or the sensation of not being able to keep it together it was emptiness' sister the distant relative of the color black the absence of happiness in its purest organic form and yet not the worst of things It is the color of the person I love the most their eyes their emotion their meaning of life a color I used to swim in but now find myself drowning in that color that made me look at the ocean with admiration and want to kiss September skies now fills me with loneliness and accompanies my sadness I always felt sad even in the presence of your soft eyes yet I always had them looking at me with comfort but this sadness was different this sadness pained me this time I did not have your eyes to reflect my sorrow in The day you left me taking those beautiful eyes with you you didn't just leave me sad You left me sad and alone and now I know what the color of loneliness is it was always the color of sadness the color of your eyes It was always the color blue
