Batter of the Universe

Batter of the Universe

A Poem by adornoscousin
"

another doozy...I appreciate all your comments

"

Battery of the universe

I sat with philosophers

And discussed Plato

I put on my spectacles

And read a few passages

And I think I fooled some of them

So I snuck out to the stadium

Tied up my cleats

Caught a few passes

We won, but no one

Congratulated me

So I went to the school

And created some policies

They thought of I was their

But I became tired of dressing up

I wanted sleep

I laid on my couch and took off

The cleats, and tie and spectacles

But all that was left

Was a rotted apple core

With a secret

and the secret might have been that I hated trying to be all the things they wanted me to be...
maybe my universe should belong to me and me alone.
This piece really hits me in the right place.

Thank you. Just like your poem about no one listening to the poet hit me.
