But a mere painting

But a mere painting

A Poem by Commit it then to the flames

Have you ever thought, that maybe the world around us is fake.

That maybe, the sky is but a mere painting,

The ocean a simple reflection off a mirror,

and that the people we love, are simply holograms?

Or maybe, the world is nothing but mosiac,

just fragments of something that was once beautiful.

Who knows, maybe everything is real.

Maybe the sky isn't a painting,

the ocean not a reflection,

and the people not holograms.

But this i do know:

The sky doesn't move; the sun simply rises and sets,

The ground doesn't move; you only either walk or stand still.

But even if this world was nothing more than a piece of artwork, a mere painting,

I wish to repaint everything,

what about you?

So thought-provoking and beautiful! I absolutely loved this. The second stanza is my favorite; so truthful yet implicit. Amazing piece!
