Amid the falling snow

Amid the falling snow

A Poem by Commit it then to the flames

How I remember sleepless nights
When we would read by candlelight,
And on the windowpane outside
A new world made of snow.

I close my window to the night.
I leave the sky her tears of white.
And all is lit by candlelight
Amid the falling snow.

The silence of a winter's night
Brings memories I hold inside;
Remembering a blue moonlight
Upon the fallen snow.

A million feathers falling down,
A million stars that touch the ground,
So many secrets to be found
Amid the falling snow.

How i remember that fateful night,

when that snow was put alight,

mother, father, brother, they're alright,

lying on the snow.

I open my eyes, wide with fright,

i leave that candle to its flames so bright,

i'm stuck inside this house alight,

Amid the melting snow.

Another incredibly written piece and the ending only proves that further. Tragic, but very beautiful. I guess a lot of great poetry is such a way.
The rhyme scheme and repetition works remarkably well together and creates an undisturbed flow, making this a wonderful read!
