Her and Her Nintendo

Her and Her Nintendo

A Poem by stargirl23

I don't know what to call her

servant, maid, or slave

I just know that the Nintendo screen lightens her skin

as if it removed the dirt

I just know that now her smile is genuine

not respectful or polite

even as she is crammed in the back of our car

like an afterthought

even as she feels crack after crack from Daadi's hand

she thinks of the light-hearted sound effects

they lighten her heart

but it is my Nintendo

and I need it back now

This is a really interesting poem! I like how it talks about a dark theme through the eyes of a simplistic, childlike view. Nice job!
