Porcelain Skin and Ocean Water Eyes

Porcelain Skin and Ocean Water Eyes

A Poem by stargirl23

I looked at you and was blinded

by the dazzling reflection of your porcelain skin

I gazed all day, I was Echo, you Narcissus

I searched and memorized, began to notice cracks in the glazed reflections of your porcelain skin

I began to search for the epitome of you, something perfect, unchanging

your arch" was what I wanted to hold, to know

I found it in your ocean water eyes

they presented a beautiful surface I wanted to explore

with hesitation and many attempts, I plunged in

and it was cold

and then it was warm

and then I was going down

I knew the textured floor at first, but it gave way to depth and layer

strange creatures floated in those depths, ugly creatures

they repelled me, made me wonder

how could they be there within such beauty

the dark shadows of your ocean water eyes with their ugly creatures scared me off

the pressure crushed me

I guess that saved me

now, seeing you, your porcelain skin and ocean water eyes

it's much too porcelain

I must have ocean water eyes
