A Poem by stargirl23

Billions of clay statues

Formed lines and circles,

That formed a sphere.

Arranged by color"

Red, brown, black, and white"

They were their own artists,

The product of two others.

The red statues were by far the fewest.

Black spikes on top, and pushed into the corner.

The brown statues were thin, long nosed, short.

The black statues were tall,

Their clay was packed firmly.

The white statues were supreme, pure, numerous.

The others were told that this is what they should be.

All the statues aspired to appear a certain way,

So they took up their knives and shaved off their bumps.

They used that clay to fill in their holes.

They made themselves smaller, taller, thinner, wider,

Forsook their colors for a mottled tan, checkered their middles,

Throwing side glances at what the other statues were doing.

Now they look all the same, they all have become standard.

I really like this. What a unique way to get a sentiment that many many people share across to the reader. Imaginative and well done.
