My music playlist
If you heard it I wonder
What would you think
Some may call it ignorant
Music
You might call it beautiful
Music
Foul language you would hear
Or words of wisdom laid down there
On instrumentals for an adrenaline
Rush
While sometimes it's laid back
Makes you wanna smoke some
Kush
The poetry is deep
Beats are grimey
With a bass so hypnotic
To get lost in
A trance
Or lyrics so shallow
With much cussin'
These tracks I could play for you
Spoken word in broken english
Stream of thoughts
Others I just have to hide from you
It's my playlist
A natural high
Medicine for a sick twisted mind
A tracklist for a progressive soul
To find
Music no matter the type are windows to the soul...be it the beat, the lyrics, the silence in between it all speaks to something. If you feel something, ANYTHING, isnt that the point.....MUSIC AWAKENS what is unspoken in our heart of hearts...its like journal- expose this only to those you trust....

"MUSIC AWAKENS what is unspoken in our heart of hearts" - I like that.
When I grew up in Detroit, (no matter the years) music was the playlist of my upbringing. On the bus, in middle school, in the yard it didn't matter. The Motown Sound with the heavy bass leads and the bovine masculine rhythms was the syllabus of my beginnings. We knew all the names and such was our devotion that when they and we grew older, we still flocked to see them in concert. Our "playlist" has more to do with our indoctrination to music than the music itself. Listening to the old-dudes in my neighborhood talk about "The Drifters" you'de believe that they were as popular as Kendrick Lemar. Because musical taste is linear rather than perpendicular in its perspective. Curse words are used today as a kind of free will or secular freedom, the same way Plath used alliteration to seem less invisible. I must admit, that I get more 'smoke' out of poetry than music; and a deeper trance out of flowers than poems. It's crazy. dana

Really like this one. Music is the soundtrack of my life too. How we relate to it and it to our lives. The pious and profane... yet certainly track-list for the progressive soul. Life is dirty, and life is beautiful.

Most kind, J. Great stuff, it was my pleasure to do the reading. Cheers
My playlists are almost bi polar. I can go from Eminem/2Pac, Trick Daddy, Tech9 & Snoop to Miley, Jumangi Hedegaard, Dr Fresch & Gangster Gang. Then head straight into Worship, Country & Call It Mr Vain.. I'm as bi polar as it gets with my music.. I play it all & feel it all. I love sitting on tiktok live with my tunes blaring for the world to listen to while I chat with my friends. Even if they don't come in, I will sit there is a world of musical feels & bliss, jamming out to anything. I AM A BEATS & BASS WOMAN!!! LOVE FEELING IT.
