i saw the boy i followed on instagram in public

i've been feeling real unfortunate since Saturday night

when I saw a familiar face that I thought only existed online

or perhaps he only existed in my silly dreams

because seeing him there, in that shop, felt like

nothing short of a nightmare

strolling around with a pretty girl whom I also follow

how do couples like them live in such an old, weird town? 

their fashion is straight from the east coast

and my heart is buried deep south

it's like seeing an ex boyfriend that was never mine

I want to feel jealous but that's just crude

so I sit on the side cursing out my bad-life luck

while the couple I follow on Instagram are right before me
