Flashlight

Flashlight

A Poem by Miranda Higgins

There is a light
Outside my window

It is the streetlight
Illuminating the way home
For passing cars

It is the reflection
Of the moon on the puddles
Speckled with stars

It is a flashlight
That you wave
in your arms

Guiding me to come outside
And take you home

There is a light
Outside my window

It is my imagination
You left long ago
With only the intention
Of leaving me here alone
