Frailty

Frailty

A Poem by Ruben Rodriguez

Hold me... and don't let me go
Don't let me blow away
Like a dry brown leaf in the wind

Lift me... up towards the sky
To touch white cotton clouds
The bright sun on my face

Touch me... with your warm hands
With the frailty of a feather
As smooth as a rose petal

Love me... through my remaining days
Share moments and smiles with me
Grow old holding my wrinkled hands

Lay with me... through my remaining nights
Your cold feet tucked under me
Tangled in sheets chest to chest

Dance with me... like mischievous children
Wild and free to our own beat
Laughing and breathless without a care

Stay with me... if the road gets rough
I'll carry your burdens when you are weak
Have the faith in me to carry on

Cry with me... in celebration
Tears of sorrow evolve into tears of joy
As we spend our remaining days happy with life

Believe in me... when I don't believe in myself
I know I can divide by zero
When you inspire me to do the impossible

A rare poem for me. It doesn't rhyme!

About
I've been writing poetry since 2014, so I'm a novice. I'm obsessed with having my poetry rhyme, but I'd like to eventually write different types of poetry. I mostly write about: love, depression, alco.. more..
