Empty Closets

Empty Closets

A Poem by Ruben Rodriguez
"

A poem about divorce or break-up.

"
All that she left
were random traces
Empty closets
and missing suit cases

She vowed to cherish me
but she lied
The bed still remains made
on her side

Holes in my heart
like tracks in the sand
Night stand glances
at her wedding band

The conflict lingered on
without a compromise
Our marriage ended
without pretend goodbyes

Things have been tough
I've suffered enough
I'm not able to handle much more

The war is over
I've lost her forever
The dog cries and waits with me by the door...

About
I've been writing poetry since 2014, so I'm a novice. I'm obsessed with having my poetry rhyme, but I'd like to eventually write different types of poetry. I mostly write about: love, depression, alco.. more..
