White FerrariA Poem by ADayinspired by the frank ocean songIn my head, I dream of us dancing across stars We play with their fire. Pupils too dilated to burn Our hands roam. So freely They’re backpacking across our continents. My eyes imprison you and for once you stay When I wake it’s always violent. A startle. A gasp. Every morning feels like a funeral I’ve died a thousand times Does it hurt? Your heart? Your soul? Something? Like it does me? I think the fire caught up with me here, somehow I burn for you Maybe, in another dimension you spontaneously combust. Burt to a crisp Here you already blew out your candle It takes a minute but soon I put out my flame too. © 2022 ADay |
