The Seashell's Tale

The Seashell's Tale

A Poem by A. Darvell
"

What story can a seashell tell? Have you ever tried listening? Really listening?

"

What story can a seashell tell?

Notes upon the sand,

Carved by Neptune’s hand.

Empty echoes on the shore,

Endless messages to explore.

Held within a sea worn stamp,

Shadows locked inside a lamp.

Secret whispers in the wind,

Of tempests long since dimmed.

Of lovers long since kissed,

Now memories in the mist.

Of rainbows out of reach,

Like stars in silent speech.

The crowns of mermaid queens,

Now hollow and forgotten dreams.
