like a cycas fern palm

like a cycas fern palm

A Poem by dante alexius
"

a poem entered for a contest: on how my '08 will unfold.

"

upon inward reflection,
i dread labyrinth shaped
hopes and dreams.

desires fertile and complex
as hiv infected cells.
they reproduce and change
from one day to the next.

just the same, just the same.

this once i see forth now
to spring and to summer.
asking of nature,
"apply to me too".

let me unravel my life
and my meaning;
wake up one morning
and yawn with my body.

just the same, just the same;

like leaves of young
cycas fern palms,
gleaming and bold.
their spirals breathe fresh air
as they unfold.

I like the repetition of " just the same, just the same" ( reminds of the talking heads " same as it ever was")
some good phrases and pacing, going to add a few suggestions in the notes..you're making progress fast, nice work.
