Surrender To LifeA Poem by Adan KhanI rest on a sandy beach, With all my complex emotions. Nowhere - I have reach, Following those quick earthly promotions. Well, everything was going for me, Once upon a time. Well-off I had been, Depositing ample of dimes. Addicted to whirlpool baths' And why! my mature cigar. Those were my luxuriant paths, Life remained a book left ajar. Only then 'twas I suffered giant losses and betrayal. The cause being lingering shares and grosses. Now, only silence provides me company, And the same appall me. In my pocket I felt some money, Threw it and set my soul free. No loyal mates, left barren, Veins and heart haunted. Living turned up daring, It's me the life daunted. I pulled myself to shore, When the thing on wrist struck five. And witnessed sun being 'no more', Yet knew for next day it would survive. With this expectation, I let the life live me. Someday, it'll lend me donation, And again charge out its interest fee ! © 2015 Adan KhanReviews
