JonasA Poem by Adam Parker
I see him standing there , my brother of same root
golden hair strains down the small of his back he claws at the book of spirits and asks : "Wanna smoke a zoot" I quiver and respond with the remarks I know well, we puff , quick start and fry our brains - numbness ensues our corporeal bodies, an escape from hell, a wish granted from the wishing well of life's endownements , and for a moment we truly believe god exists . It is true we are both Romeo with our own Juliet distant lands not closed by the thrills of globalisation - he weeps and tells me his troubles of how he hasn't let go yet the housing bills he has to pay, how sad she is of the distance , how he is thwarted by the evil beak of May - but In an instant there is nothing that could harm us . We are one together as brothers in joy, as when: Numbness ensues a smile of joker is firmly implanted, when numbness ensues reality isn't sharp with harsh edges, reality is positive with curves of smooth cloud when numbness ensues friends become friends for life , and gods face is visible in the sky . Numbness is no means a necessity for us , we speak words of wisdom while clear, music plays the soundtracks to our lives- In other words numbness is a release from pain, it brings you to its chest and says "it's ok now my dear" © 2017 Adam Parker |
