Oh brotherA Poem by Adam ParkerA conversation about inner peace and a discovery of self , between two people .
My brother tells me a soul is at peace within the interior of self,
A boat on rapids of white horses scathing down in a barrage ; a shield from a spartan against foe and friend An office worker, "go on then , milk and two sugars". He tells me that self is secluded safe-house - the only thing constant in life and death. Emotion is inherently external , anxiety brought about by the outside world. He is Jeru the damaja on his quest to eradicate ignorance , Jesus at the Sea of Galilee, Bruce advising us "to be like water my friend": A philosopher philosophising in pop culture , he sits in his room in the North of England and thinks: The external world must have no effect on the safe house, the gates are up , a Great Wall against the Mongols of ignorance. he tells me to turn off my mind , relax and float downstream ; release the shackles of pain , for nothing can disturb the waters surface , and if it does - calmness will replace. Knowing thyself is to not know thyself , Confucian confusion of wisdom and the wise - release the grip of fingers on the edge of a building and you will be truly set free . © 2017 Adam Parker |
