PepsiA Poem by Adam ParkerPepsi advert with Kendal Jenner
Pepsi
trivialisation of a generation with scorned adverts and television, With tunnel vision there is no vision, only despair and greed I saw an advert of Kendal Jenner today , I saw it. Her need to receive praise baffles me , her hollow shell of "character", she gives a police officer a can of Pepsi With no-one to challenge her we think she is "cool and hip ", old men in a room say "she just has it" she rallies the troops , makes them jump through hoops to blind themselves Replace their eyes and wear the glasses of old men , no surprise, they are called Earl and John, Do they know what they've done??? I do Little few can tell , that all they see is a reflection of old men Who trivialise protest to sell products , its a process capitalists capitalising for capital . Starbucks help 30,000 refugees while killing a million on their farms, Pepsi making protest lighthearted , No recollection of the harm , the salty water afoot and the smash of broken bones, Nowhere to call home, marginalised abroad and at home Just to fill the lake with a bucket more water It's torture to see , to be aware of corporate greed and perception we've missed our Marx, we are in a world of Mad Men , in the mirror I see my reflection , It's not Don Draper , It would never happen. © 2017 Adam Parker |
