Sanctity

Sanctity

A Poem by Adam Parker
"

discussion of the existence of a supernatural entity.

"
I hope there is a supernatural entity
one to inspire didactic love and reason
a unity of indictment against our enemy,
solidify a state without treason.
I hope there is a god above
a father to wash our scraped knees
one that created the beetle and the dove
oh how i beg on my knees and plead.
I wish for divinity in the sky
I exclaim "give us purpose and salvation"
give us a reason
what
where
f*****g why?
do i feel fleeting jubilation.
where are you in the clouds with sanctity
where are you with your boots on the ground
where are you when bombs drop on me
do you even hear the sound?
we say
"god is a giver of purpose and placement"
he tells you you're here to serve him
I say "we'll never see your face then"
due to the anchor of our sin
we say
"he solidifies our moral obligation"
love thy neighbour and serve me only
be serious, you don't give a f**k about our salvation
because you're holy holy holy.
I accept those who embrace him
though he isnt for me
I think he is morose when
I say that I dont know him.
