HourGlass Fate

HourGlass Fate

A Poem by Adam Jordan Turner
"

New Song! Rock!!! I find as people we can be very impatient with life, and we let it get to us. Very seldom do we realize we are actually in control of our own fate and our own time.

"

 HourGlass Fate

Stop thinking
Stop waiting
Stop holding
On let go

Stop dreaming
Stop being
So impatient

Just go
Go
Go

Stop living life with an hourglass fate
Stop giving up it’s never too late
Stop holding on to your tries that have failed and gone
Time ain’t never running out till you open its gate

Stop  wishing
Stop missing
Stopped missions
Let go

Stop fighting
Stop crying
Just rise above

And go
Go
Go

Stop living life with an hourglass fate
Stop giving up it’s never too late
Stop holding on to your tries that have failed and gone
Time ain’t never running out till you open its gate

Stop holding on to what’s keeping you  frightened
Stop staring at it, see a mountain you climb it
Stop holding on to your loves that have lived and sailed away
Time ain’t never running out till you open its gate

Stop losing
Stop choosing
To stop trying

Just rise
Rise
Rise

Stop living life with an hourglass fate
Stop giving up it’s never too late
Stop holding on to your tries that have failed and gone
Time ain’t never running out till you open its gate

Stop holding on to what’s keeping you frightened
Stop staring at it, see a mountain you climb it
Stop holding on to your loves that have lived and sailed away
Time ain’t never running out....

Stop living life with an hourglass fate

It works marvelously with the music...don't know how well it reads. Let me know, if you will! Thanks!

Since I haven't heard the music, I can only comment on it as a poem, not as a song. As a poem, I felt that the idea of an "hourglass fate" was underdeveloped. You could take it in so many directions, but all you had was the repetition in the refrain. You might consider adding some more imagery dealing with hourglasses and sand and time running out, etc. or you could write another stanza or two to flesh out this idea.

Well done. Keep up the good work.

ok since I have heard the music...sort of... I can say that it sings better than it reads... Though the reading is not too bad just kind of repetitive.... but yea Since i have heard it sang I will say FABulous job sir!
