You Deserve The World

For my mother, I am speaking for myself and my two older brothers in this piece. I handed it to her on mothers day, screw hallmark, haha jk.

 You gave us life and brought us joy

Secured our journey to men from boys

Always provided your love and care 

If no one else, you were there

 

When life dealt us a difficult hand 

You were first to take a stand

Your constant love and constant hope

Is much more stellar than any we know

 

It cannot be easy to be you

With the unimaginable times we’ve put you through 

But you are strong with grace and ease

To anyone your love would appease

 

On this glorious Mothers Day

We fear there are few words to say

For there are few that come to mind

To thank you for being so extra divine

 

For being there when needed most

For planting in us loves seed to grow

For never failing to do your best 

For giving us love and nothing less

 

The only thing I can think to say 

Is we would have it no other way 

No other mother could ever be ours

No other love possesses yours’ powers

 

We’ll tell you this any time 

In our hearts you’re first in line

Which brings me to what we’d like to say 

We love you so dearly

Though not always too clearly

But so very severely 

And completely sincerely 

Your heart full of love is our favorite place

You deserve the world, Happy Mothers Day

Sweet poem, I tried to write something for my mother, but somehow was lost for words. You obviously found some nice ones for your mother. I'm sure it was a great gift. I like "We love you so dearly / Though not always too clearly", it's so true to me at least. I don't always show my mother how much I care. Thanks for sharing!
