Don't Open Your EyesA Poem by Adam Jordan TurnerDon't open your eyes, there is no surprise Don't believe what they say, it's only lies keep yourself wrapped up, tight and furled Safe and calm, in your own little world It's time to go back to your comfortable room It was so very bold to shoot for the moon Even though you missed, and also missed the stars Congratulate yourself, you got very far You can do it again, you'll have many a chance But for the moment, love, you're stuck in a trance Don't close the doors, leave them ajar It's just time to close the wounds, and cover the scars You've been a little broken, beaten by fear You've been a little burned from the fierce atmosphere So just recuperate, it'll be over soon Keep yourself sane in a tight caccoon There will come a day with brand new skys And like a pheaonix from ashes, you will rise Until that day comes, where new ambitions arrive While you are not the "you" you know, don't open your eyes. © 2008 Adam Jordan TurnerReviews
