Worthless

Worthless

A Poem by Ada
"

This emotionally charged poem delves into the complex dynamics of a toxic relationship, where initial admiration transforms into disillusionment and self-doubt

"

Enchanted by qualities only you possessed.

I saw in you my strength"

A delicate flower blooming in your light.

Your roots, deep and unyielding,

Defied the very earth that gave them life.

But as I drew closer,

The truth revealed itself"

You weren’t my strength, you were my decay,

You were the poison seeping into my soul,

Corrupting all I once stood for.

Now I drift,

Lost in this hollow spectacle of your creation.

I tried to ask for directions,

But speaking to you felt like pleading with ghosts.

I tell myself it’s beneath me"

Your drama, your problems, you.

Yet echoes of the past stir,

And once more, I start to care.

Tell me, is your suffering hollow,

A scripted scene in your grand play?

You call yourself a creator,

But really, you’re a thief.

You strip and take,

Dancing as if you birthed every idea,

Yet you’re no longer yourself"

Just a reflection of the things you’ve exploited.
