spirituality

A Story by adakaia

I definitely agree with that article. It is a unique challenge in this day in age. We take globalization for granted, and it would take a lot of intention to be able to create more localized efforts. I think the fact that there are so many people losing their jobs, gives opportunity for a new design. I’ve heard of people suggesting that we all get a base income, as in socialism. It is true that people don’t often take responsibility. A lot of people are incredibly lazy, but often because they are so busy and have many other things to take care besides recycling for instance. But we do have responsibilities especially to the Earth and our local communities. The politics are very messy and extremely polarized. I am more cynical in regards to there being a ruling elite trying to keep their power and money.

I liked one of the conversations from the group about how the natural world inspires awe. It is true that the interconnectivity is so complex. I think it is something to marvel over and not take from granted. I still consider myself to be a scientist.  I try and keep the mindset of being a perpetual learner. I like investigating and questioning everything about this world. I am highly sensitive so I need very little input, to come up with a lot of output, be it art, writing, reflection, etc.

Before I came to this group, I considered spirituality to be a form of pseudoscience. I now realize that is a form of arrogance and lack of knowledge. I think the more you know, the more you know that you don’t know. I also think there is convergence in ideas the more information is filled in. I try to stay open-minded.

I also have an appreciation of simplicity. I don’t care much about money or power. I want to do good for the world. I am attracted to the idea of being watched over closely by a greater being. I also like the notion that destiny is real and our experiences are intentional, to teach us. That is fairly different from a lot of the modern philosophers, who for instance claim we don’t even have free will.
