Distance

Distance

A Poem by Johnathan Smith
"

A poem for someone close yet far away.

"
Sometimes it's hard to say
what's really on my mind.
You're so damned far away
it hurts me inside.

I want to take you on a date
even though it's impossible.
One of us would be late
blaming it on this plane or that.

I love you my dear
we both know that it's true
I get aggravated when you're not here
My heart is confused.

We used to talk for hours
now it's only minutes.
We send each other flowers
but conversation has become difficult.

Maybe we're just comfortable
knowing all that we can know.
I just wish we were able
to find the way to go.

Author's Note

Johnathan Smith
I know it's all rhymey and a little corny, but I was really thinking of my partner and things that have been going on lately. Besides I have to start writing again somehow.
