Legal Homocide

Legal Homocide

A Poem by Me vs. Myself

Innocent little eyes cruelly sealed shut

Before he even got a chance to open them up

A tiny mute mouth, A voice that's never heard

Never said momma, no he never said a word

Never had a chance to defend his little life

So what if he resulted from that one crazy night

Because of your mistake, he faces the consequence

I know it's difficult, sparking many arguments

You choose the easy way, causing you less pain

Selfishness and pride are reasons he was slain

If he could speak today, he'd ask his momma why

Why did you sit there and watch your baby die

Didn't you love me enough to give me a chance

A chance to be a kid, to jump around and dance

The choice that you make could be "legal" homocide

Before you make that choice, look in a baby's eyes
