Pretend

Pretend

A Poem by Arantza

The tears swallowed my sight
Burning my skin
As the poison rolled down
Leaving the marks
Of its path down my cheeks.
When my hand wiped the tears
Leaving no trail behind.
As the memories hid
Like the shadow in the dark.
Leaving room for the one thing they cared to see:
The sun drawn as a smile in my face
And the tears that had now fade away.
