A dash of wishful thinking from my romantic side

Yesterday I had a dream
A crazy whirlwind fantasy
Where romance blooms and hymns
What poets would write and sigh in ecstasy
As star-crossed lovers you and I meet
Under a starry night in a crowded street
We both came from a different start
Like two broken pieces of a heart
As our eyes meet I swore
I saw half of my soul in a mirror
Reminding me of long hidden emotions
I had never given contemplation
Sending sensations inside of me
Coursing right through me, evincing me
Like sparks flying sporadically
You shook my life completely
Like fireworks exploding in the sky
So beautiful yet so briefly timed
Like shivers and goosebumps on my skin
You came and gone like the wind
Like embers of flaming desire
You made me question life
Of eternity and forever
The happenstance of a second or an hour
As my gaze meets yours
As we pass each other on our course
In my mind a memory
In my heart a plea
For our paths to cross again
For fate to chance us to meet again.
