In Withdrawal

In Withdrawal

A Chapter by A.C. Lei

You are like a drug, an addiction I can't shake off.
No matter how I try to act normal,
You are like a drug, an addiction I can't shake off.
The shivers, the withdrawal is still there.
I need to hear your voice, I need to see you,
Be with you.
I want to feel your hand on mine, hear your laughter
As we laugh like there's no tomorrow.
Now I'm stuck in a slump, wanting nothing but to lie down
To sleep through the numbness, hopefully forgetting you.
I try to tell myself you're nothing good,
A liar, a player and a cheat
Except we were never together, were we?
I had no reason to feel like this,
To feel betrayed, to feel cheated,
To feel so alone.
