A Chapter by Kat

“How long has it been?” Stephen asked. His eyes were worried.

“About three months,” James answered. “It’s day by day, but she seems all right.”

Stephen shook his head. No one could ever be all right after the trauma Kailie endured. But Stephen called her a spirit fighter for a reason. She was Joseph’s blood, after all. But he knew she was also human, like the rest of them.

“I was going to see her today,” he pointed out. “Wanna come with me?”

James nodded.

“Spirit fighter” fit her perfectly.

Kailie had found a new home about a month after everything. It was close to her friends so she would stay in touch. But Joshua had too many memories for her to handle. Stephen figured that when they ran into her, she’d be doing one of her favorite things: Sitting on her porch, reading a book by either Anne Rice or Stephen King. He knew her all too well… All too well…

I have loved writing since I was eight years old. I've written many things for years. Most of it seemed to be practice to me. But I did, and still do, take great passion in creating a new world. more..
