Dark days

Dark days

A Poem by acidmonkey

I am in a darkened valley
The cliff pulls me closer
to the deadly edge

it calls my name
 like a soundless ghost.
Is it possible to come away from the edge?
The hold it has
consumes my dreams nightly
dreams become nightmares
my soul becomes a darkened pit
my feet beg to stop
unwilling paces
 stride towards the edge
closer and closer
 soon to plummet
Soon to fall
against the rocky bottom
The moon watches like a twisted killer
the light it emits
plunges me in a trance.

I open my eyes once again
hearing the hatred fly.

I feel the blade against my skin
I feel the ending must be near
death must be better than this
Death must suffice compared to pain
Life equals pain
After happiness
pain soon follows
