HypocrisyA Poem by SammiYou're quick, too quick, to judge those who reach for the shiny silver of temporary relief. You say it's wrong, selfish and unnecessary. That looking for something to replace the pain is never the answer.
You're right. It's not.
But the harm, which you disregard, comes in many shades. Many shades of replacing emotion with physicalities.
Lighting the end of leaves rolled in paper. The intake of the carcinogenics. The exhaust-like fumes filling your lungs. Is calming the emotion and replacing it with a physicality.
The downing of your liquid poison. The toxicity of the substance burning your throat. Your liquid meal drowning your brain. Is forgetting the emotion and replacing it with a physicality.
The harm, which you disregard, comes in many shades. Many shades of replacing emotion with physicalities.
So before you judge, accuse and threaten, remember that you do the same. © 2012 Sammi |
