Less than HumanA Poem by AkromaFree writing exercise at 3 in the morning. Is it not, in some undeniable way, A white flag of surrender? An announcement of giving up On this whole living thing, This whole human fad? Would rather be a doll kept on a shelf Observing without partaking, Until resurrected and forced into life; Plucked up during playtime. In a few hours back on the shelf. Worn, with messed up hair and a wardrobe change. Back to the observation station, The freedom from decision and disappointment, From rejection and failure. Transcended into an entirely new form, Fear and want do not exist. No one can ever be more than human. But one can always be less.
