Dear Dreaming,

Dear Dreaming,

A Poem by Akroma

Dear Dreaming,

I wish I found You more than You found me.

I wish I could hide from Your probing hands,
And claim myself uncharted lands.
But I always meet my darkest defeat
Every night I’m chained and caged at Your feet.

I pray for Dreamless thoughts of Knowledge,
Holy Power, and Love, and Guidance,
But You await, always ready for the next attack,
Whenever You should find me defenseless on my back.

And it wouldn't be so bad,
And I wouldn't be quite as mad,
If You didn't effect my waking world’s view,
And didn't scare me in the day world too.

I've tried to control You, but it’s no use,
It’s my neck You have in a noose.
I never win in this game we play,
All I can hope for is a win during the day.

Most will not understand this struggle of self as well as I do ;-) This is a beautiful poem of submission, yet to be completely realized or accepted. The fact that she still stuggles for dominance during the day, indicates her continued conflict. I believe her peace, and true happiness, will come when day and night are one, and her chains and cage are eternal, not occassional. Just one man's opinion...
