"Hibiscus"A Poem by Anthony PoeticusThis is the love that has grown over the years between a man and a woman that were friends, Now the relationship has blossomed into real love...(This is more than a crush... Oh how much you've bloomed...) Oh Hibiscus, Can you tell me what's on your mind? My wonder provides the question: How could you be so fine? Your leaves beautify my landscape of chivalry, How I plead my queen to take away my misery. So deeply rooted like the tree's of Amazon, Out of my own cistern I drink of that I'm fond. Oh Hibiscus, Can you tell me what your made of? What I take from you brings me joy and takes me high above. Could you be my cup of tea? Could you be my prototype for me? I can tell you I love you way more than what you could ever see. Your lips taste like sweet honeydew, I know your first love wasn't true, From the heartbreak it crushed your stem and only made hue's of blue. Juices of your flavor leap off your petal's- Candy coated as you boil into my simmer, You've been in my plans of hunger for as long as I can remember. Oh Hibiscus, Can you conquer my lonely garden? Better yet can you be mines forever? With you in my climate you can take control and change the weather. Oh Hibiscus, Can you tell me what's that delightful fragrance? Into my nostril's I breathe, You have a special radiance. Hibiscus oh how much you've bloomed, Your hold on me comes out and catches me like your sweet perfume. Nobody can take away my addiction, You can't explain my affliction, With you not in my life would be my greatest malediction. Oh Hibiscus, Can you be my flower balm? Soothing me mind, body, and soul as I write my psalm. © 2014 Anthony Poeticus |
