The Words I LendA Poem by Amanda RichelleThis is about feeling something unspoken, but being fearful of what could actually be said...
When you speak I only hear the words that you suppress,
As my heart creaks and cracks it accelerates the breath. The more friendly we appear, the greater the distress: With significant effort I continue this process. Conjuring nightmares of what you could confess, Comforted by even the most gruesome guess. The words I lend you massage my loneliness, Bringing to the surface more knots that I must address. © 2016 Amanda Richelle |
