Strangers

Strangers

A Poem by Amanda Richelle

Eye meets eye,
Insecurities cry,
So much sin to deny:
Flustered, and unsure why
A smile flashes by-
Executing an awkward 'Hi'

Eyes avoid the gaze,
Blinded by a thought haze,
Perpetuating an action craze,
Or consumed in a selfish daze
Solitude sets acknowledgement ablaze-
Navigating a life-size maze.

Eyes dart away,
Unsure what else to say,
Hardly any 'self' left to betray
No rescue from this dismay
Twisted are the games we play:
Simply passing by each day.
