Future

Future

A Poem by Amanda Richelle

Through a crystal ball the eyes are vacated,
Predicting where each obstacle will be slated,
The transparent thought bubble is vigorously inflated-
Convinced proper planning will leave you elated.
Clinging to choice- convinced all can be debated,
Oh so sure your clues have been properly translated-
Truth and perception mercilessly related-
The closer it comes the more it is anticipated,
Desire burns as hope is created,
Loathing sets in while fear is generated...
It seems foolish, but it must be stated:
Despite planning, procedure and discussion being dictated-
The future continues to pass, while being anxiously awaited

The interesting use of rhyme drew me to this piece. Initially I found the rhyming quite distracting from the imagery, however during my second reading this was less so. Thanks for uploading, I really enjoyed reading it. :)
