Ugly Cry

Ugly Cry

A Poem by Amanda Richelle

Hard boiled eyes,
Overcooked by lies-
Sniveling nostrils,
Succumbing to obstacles-
Lopsided grimace,
Tilted by premise-
Incapacitated vocal cords,
Sliced by conversation swords-
Red, scrunched and inarticulate,
The face affected by an incident-
Insult and injury do conspire,
I am an ugly crier.

You know who's an ugly crier....Lucille Ball. Any way, it's true we all distort in some way when we cry....as if the tears were not enough of a giveaway. Nice write and enjoyable read.

Nicely worded, love the ending. Painful inspiration brings honest poetry.
